Dear Daryl,
Our group was looking to create an outlook application targeted at email marketeers that would be able to help users sort through automatic replies and parse useful information from them. Oftentimes, marketing campaigns result in thousands of bounced emails/automatic replies with useful information, such as the contact information of other people in the same organisation or a notice that someone is leaving his/her company and is being replaced.
Though this information would be valuable to most marketing teams, parsing through thousands of emails manually is extremely slow and tedious work, so we hoped to build an application to fill this gap. At present, we were looking to make use of natural language processing libraries available for python to accomplish this, whilst using react to build the actual application.
Both of us are fairly new to software development in general and were hoping to draw on your experience with APIs in terms of the actual execution of our project. Do let us know if you would be interested to hear more about the project/would consider mentoring us and we hope to hear from you soon. Thank you!

Dear Daryl,
Our team is looking to create an app that will help connect people looking to play sports but may be unable to find enough people to make a proper game. The main idea of the app is to allow its users to initiate games with their preferred time and locality or to join existing games that have already been initiated. The app will then automatically match compatible users, notify them and provide them with a platform to finalize the details of their game.
We decided to go with this idea as we have encountered this problem of not having enough players ourselves when trying to organize a game with our friends. In your bio, you mentioned that you used to play badminton and basketball competitively and seem to be an avid sports fan! Thus, we were hoping that you can see the value in our app and be able to provide us with some insights as a sportsman or even as a potential user.
We would be very grateful should you choose to mentor us for our project.

Thank you for supporting our idea as per our email conversation. We are looking forward to learning and executing out our idea under your mentorship.
Motivation for this project idea:
• In our busy schedules, we often get daunted by physical exercises after a tiring day
• Additionally other commitments from school and work often cause us to forget or not give much thought to physical exercises. Because to be honest, squeezing in a short push-up session is not something we cannot afford to do however busy our schedule may be.
• We want to gamify exercise, by utilizing the element of friendly peer to peer competition and bandwagon effect to make our application attractive and addictive, but with a positive physical outcome (their health).
Here is a brief overview of our idea:
Fitmate (Mobile Fitness Challenge Game)
• Our vision is to create an application where users can send fitness challenges to their friends after having done those challenges themselves and its authenticity verified by our application. These fitness challenges are those that can be done with no additional equipment anywhere anytime.
• The user can record a video of themselves performing the fitness activity (pushup, situp, squats) which will be analysed using open cv algorithms which will verify that they have successfully done the desired number of reps and have done it properly (smart analyser).
• By completing challenges, users gain points and climb a game leaderboard, which will be linked to their social media network.
