Dear Mr Nate Lee @"Nate Lee",
CodeOnTheGo is a mobile-first app that helps users practice coding by focusing on problem-solving processes rather than writing full code solutions. It guides users through structured questions, allowing them to outline their thought processes step-by-step. AI is employed to evaluate user responses, providing targeted hints and solution analysis to reinforce logical thinking. Gamified features like streaks, quizzes, and 1v1 duels make learning interactive and engaging. By simplifying coding challenges into approachable tasks, CodeOnTheGo makes coding practice accessible anytime, anywhere.
Why choose us?
At CodeOnTheGo, we’re passionate about creating an engaging, AI-powered learning platform that feels fresh and impactful. We’re excited about pushing boundaries and trying out new methods to make our feedback system smarter and more intuitive, aligning with your interest in exploring innovative approaches. Your experience in ML Ops and generative AI could really help us refine how we deliver targeted, context-aware hints while maintaining strong engineering practices. We’re eager to learn how to integrate AI effectively without compromising on performance or reliability — and that’s where your perspective would be invaluable.

Declan Sin

Hi Nate !

We’re Declan and Nickson — two passionate NUS undergrads building LegacyLink, a mentorship application.

Nickson is an incoming Y2 Computer Science student who previously developed SwapSphere, a prototype for an NUS online marketplace.
Declan is a Y1 Information Systems student, just wrapped up an internship at Accenture as a Techno-Functional Analyst (AWS & SQL), and has co-founded two ventures:
• Koyoyu Studio – a streetwear distribution company
• A brokerage firm focused on loans, hotels, and small-scale M&A

The idea is simple: connect students to alumni mentors (like yourself!) using smart matching, real-time chat, and integrated scheduling. It’s like dating apps but instead for personal growth — but without the awkward bios and ghosting. We built LegacyLink because we personally struggled to find accessible, relevant mentorship at NUS. Between the maze of Telegram channels, emails, and scattered resources, there wasn’t a simple, intentional space to connect with alumni who actually want to give back.

We’re both super committed to building something meaningful, and we’d love to learn from your experience — especially as someone who’s already volunteered to mentor. Would love if you could take a look at our poster in the google drive folder to check out our proposed tech stack and more details!

Here’s our stuff:

Looking forward to chatting — and maybe even onboarding you as our first in-app mentor !

Cheers,
Declan & Nickson

Dear Mr. Lee,
We are Kai Qing and Ee Syuen from team HandyGo. Your profile caught our attention due to your expertise in machine learning engineering and strong emphasis on modern software engineering practices, both of which align closely with the goals of our project.
HandyGo is an AI-powered mobile application that connects users with trustworthy service providers for home services like plumbing, cleaning, and electrical work. We aim to improve the reliability and transparency of the service industry through dynamic pricing models, AI-driven provider matching, and real-time booking updates. On the provider side, our platform also helps self-employed workers manage bookings, view earnings, and avoid scheduling conflicts.
As students, we are keen not just to complete our project, but to do so while adopting solid engineering principles, including version control, CI/CD, testing strategies, and modular architecture. We believe your experience in ML Ops and your interest in exploring new development methods would offer us valuable guidance as we build and refine HandyGo.
Thank you for considering our request. We’d be very grateful for the opportunity to work with you and learn from your experience throughout this journey.

Sean Ow Zhan Rong

Hi Mr. Lee!

We’re Jie Yang and Sean — two Year 1 NUS Computer Science students passionate about music and technology, which led us to form Code & Chords. Our project, Guitar Story, is a space-themed, AI-powered guitar learning tool that helps players see music theory in action as they play.

We believe computer science is more than just code — it’s a tool to solve real-world problems. And for us, music isn’t just a hobby — it’s something deeply personal. This project is our way of blending both worlds to create something meaningful, not just for ourselves, but for musicians everywhere.
After struggling with rigid apps and endless YouTube tutorials that offer little real-time feedback, we asked ourselves:

What if learning guitar felt more like a personalised adventure game — complete with missions, live scale overlays, and interactive feedback?

With Guitar Story, users can:
• Detect fretboards in real time using OpenCV + Roboflow
• Overlay dynamic scale patterns and guitar tabs
• Get feedback and tackle progression challenges — one riff at a time

We’re aiming for Artemis level, and we’re looking for a mentor who can help us navigate real-time system design, AI tuning, and user-centred feedback loops. Your expertise in Computer Vision would be incredibly valuable in helping us bring this vision to life.

We’d be thrilled to have you on board as our mentor and help us launch the next evolution of guitar learning.

Warm regards,
Code & Chords

Swee Kah Ho

Hi Nate!

We are Kah Ho and Marcus from Team Beyond, and we would really appreciate your guidance and advice in building our project Bites. In summary, Bites will be a social media platform built exclusively for food posts, with added features such as menu item exploration and helping groups of friends collectively decide where to eat, given their individual preferences.

Your profile really stood out to us because your personal interest in AI recommendation systems greatly aligns with our goal of building a sophisticated post-recommendation system that would recommend relevant and targeted food locations to users. We also share the same belief that building products that incorporate good software engineering processes is important, since we have gone out of our way to research industry best practices, and we plan to adopt them iteratively with a pragmatic mindset as we go.

Our goal for this orbital project is to deploy a working functional app that the public can use, and we do have plans to continue working on the project even beyond Orbital, which is why we value good SWE practices so much, since we believe it's the best way for us to write code sustainably. Your advice regarding the implementation of our AI components would also be invaluable to us - we could really use your guidance on what to research and point us in the right direction during implementation, and we will do our utmost to see it through to completion, as we are no strangers to working ourselves to the bone if it means delivering excellence.

Thanks for taking the time to consider our project, and we hope to get the chance to work with you! Below are our team's details for your consideration.

Hi Nate!

We are Jasper Ang and Jeric Tan from Team Lyst, and we’d love to work with you to bring our relationship-management app, Lyst, to life.

We want Lyst to be an AI-powered relationship management app, that acts as a centralised platform for all your relationship needs, and automatically plans fully fleshed out dates, including date routes and the like, making intimacy and spontaneity convenient. We created this knowing that managing and planning for relationships can be stressful, particularly for busy university students balancing academics, extracurricular activities, and personal life.

We particularly noticed that you have a deep interest in Machine Learning and Generative AI. At the core of our project, the both of us are really interested in how our project can really further utilise AI models to better deliver what our users need, exploring more advanced ways of querying and generating output with much more complexity and functionality. As such, we believe that your expertise and passion will be invaluable in guiding us in new ways to approach using generative AI and ML.

We look forward to the chance to collaborate and learn from your experience!

Thank you for considering our request. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
