Dear Sophie,
Greetings, we hope you’re having a great day! We believe that your knowledge and expertise in AI/ML and in Backend Development will greatly aid us in developing our mobile application, UniMates!
Who are We?
UniMates! is a centralized and streamlined platform for National University of Singapore (NUS) students, enabling them to effortlessly discover and connect with compatible peers. Utilizing an online-dating-app user interface that resembles Tinder / Bumble, students are able to find their most compatible partners for study buddies, academic projects, and other non-academic pursuits. By incorporating Gensim's doc2vec model, our ML-Powered recommendation system provides customizable profile suggestions that elevate the effectiveness and uniqueness of our application. Further details are enclosed in our proposal and poster.
Feel free to contact us whenever through Telegram / Email, and as a team, we are very excited to potentially have you as our mentor. Thank you!
At StarSnap, we aim to develop an identification model using Python and versatile libraries like TensorFlow. With your guidance, we hope to explore neural network architecture, large-scale training, and deployment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy for our model. Additionally, we are committed to creating an exceptional user experience through a seamless and visually appealing front-end interface utilising React, React Native, and Material UI. For our back-end infrastructure, we plan to utilise Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and NodeJS to build a robust and scalable back end. Furthermore, we were also looking to explore web deployment on scalable platforms like AWS. We hope to draw from your expertise to achieve these goals.
What sets us apart from the few existing astronomy identification alternatives is our dedication to providing a convenient and user-friendly experience through our integrated platform with multi-functionality. We differentiate ourselves by offering unique features like personalised learning, catering to astronomy enthusiasts of all levels of expertise, from beginners to seasoned astronomers. Our goal is to create an inclusive and accessible platform that empowers users to explore the wonders of astronomy at their own pace and level of understanding.
Our drive stems not only from our passion for software development but also from our profound love and fascination for astronomy. We hope to draw from your experience to learn to stay up to date with the latest industry standards and practices. With our experience in React and Ruby on Rails, coupled with your invaluable guidance and expertise, we are confident in our ability to make this project a resounding success.
Feel free to contact us through Telegram/Email.
Thanks, and looking forward to working with you,
Team StarSnap
One of our life aspirations would be to make an impact in this world. Using the Orbital program as a foundation to do so, we would like to share our project idea with you, Spense!
With Spense, we're streamlining the entire process of receipt and expense management while eliminating the environmental wastage caused by paper receipts. Users would no longer have to collect paper receipts, but rather have multiple methods to identify themselves and have their receipts stored virtually (RFID cards, Bluetooth, Face ID, etc) Additionally, users can easily organize and categorize receipts in one centralized place, eliminating the hassle of paper receipts.
But it doesn't stop there. Spense goes beyond just managing expenses. It offers features like warranty and exchange tracking, providing timely reminders for expiration dates. We're also developing Spense Monitor, which provides analytical insights on spending patterns and generates personalized reports for users and businesses alike.
We're excited about the potential impact of Spense. Together with your mentorship and our past project experience, we look forward to revolutionizing the way we store transactional records in a sustainable, secure and convenient way.
Please do let contact us if you have any enquires regarding the poster or our proposal. We look forward to becoming your mentee.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
We are William and Gerard from Team ConcernedFox, a pair of self-driven CS students who are trying to solve a current problem that is faced by most students: mental health and productivity problems.
We are working on a mobile application called Zenith, an application with a gamification system that helps students increase their productivity and creates a healthy lifestyle. Zenith motivates students to do productive things by rewarding each productive thing they do. Zenith also records every habit and activity the users do and the data will be analyzed at the end of the period (weekly or monthly) to provide certain tips and statistics.
We are reaching out to you because we believe your experience in backend and big data will greatly help us to develop our application (data storing and organizing) and create a meaningful analysis for the user.
We are eager to discuss our project further with you and learn under your mentorship. Your guidance as a mentor would help us fulfill our goal to help students achieve their goals while also keeping a healthy mental state.
Thank you for considering our request. We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to work with you on this exciting project. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or require additional information.
Best regards,
William and Gerard (Team ConcernedFox)

We are writing to you to express our interest in having you as our mentor here at Team HawkerBro.
HawkerBro is a mobile application that seeks to connect hawker stall owners and consumers. The hawker culture in Singapore is very unique. However, due to rising food prices and cost of living, the hawker culture is weakening. This has led to a decline in the number of hawker stalls and thus, a loss in some of our traditional foods that are integral to our identity.
This mobile application aims to contribute to the preservation of the hawker culture in Singapore. By increasing the accessibility to affordable and diverse hawker food, we can connect consumers to hawker owners to support our local entrepreneurs.
Our team comprises individuals who are keen in learning new software engineering practices that can help create solutions to industry problems. We decided to reach out to you as your area of interest aligns with the expertise that we require in carrying out our project. We are sure that with your guidance, we will be able to upgrade our knowledge in this field to complete our task and hopefully deploy it for public use.
We are Andrew and Mark, and we are creating an engaging and intuitive Mahjong web app called MahjongPals. We are passionate about Mahjong and committed to creating a user-friendly and fun app that will revolutionise the way people play this game. We are eager to learn from your expertise and guidance and are excited to embark on this journey together. We hope you'll join us in making MahjongPals a reality!
