A personalized message: Why should the mentor pick your team?
My team is interested in learning more about full-stack web development and believes that your expertise in this area and extensive experience as a mentor would be extremely beneficial to us and the development of our web application. We are dedicated and passionate about software engineering and are committed to making the best out of this opportunity and have lots of fun throughout this process.
We hope you consider our team and it would be a pleasure to have you as our mentor.
We are project ReHash, a team of two highly motivated Computer Science students looking to build a novel platform: a combination of web app + mobile app for anyone to swap anything anywhere! We both are extremely excited to embark on this development journey to build something that we believe passionately would be beneficial to anyone and everyone in our community.
We highly value your experience working with digital commerce as the trading and transaction aspects, together with the knowledge of classification of goods and services and consumer/user behaviour, is very relevant to our project. Besides that, we are also very inspired by your strong contribution to the larger community. Before planning out this whole project, we both had a clear goal to build a platform that would serve the larger community in the long run and wish to build something that people would continuously use even after the project. Your experiences in impacting the wider community as well as in startups would be invaluable to us.
We are looking forward to learning from you to the best of our abilities and grow together as a team. We would therefore wish to kindly invite you to be our mentor throughout our project journey this summer! It would really mean a lot to us!
We are highly motivated students with a desire to work towards the common social good. Shem is well-versed in front-end development and UI/UX design while Vignesh has experience in both front-end and back-end development. We believe that our project could become a real force for social good and further enable sustainable revenue streams for charitable organisations. We hope that you would be willing to guide us through this journey. Thank you for your consideration!
Alex and I are both self-driven individuals with an interest in creating global platforms and making a difference! We strongly believe that with your experience in mentoring multiple Orbital Teams, as well as your understanding in both Software Development and Social Empowerment initiatives, we will be able to empower individuals to improve their physical potential through exercising together with their peers.
We aim to build a world-class platform that connects individuals through exercise, and we hope that you would be willing to guide us through this journey!
You can reach out to us via our Telegram handle/Email and we will reply promptly!
Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to potentially having you as our mentor!
Hello Laurence, we are SponsorLah!, a pair of Computer Science freshmen from Malaysia. Our Orbital project is called Sponsorr!, a web application that matches events with sponsors for the purpose of event sponsorship.
The platform not only serves as a marketplace for event organisers and sponsors but under its hood is a machine-learning powered matching algorithm that generates optimal event-sponsor pairings, which removes the logistical overhead of searching for sponsorships.
Your experience in mentoring generations of Orbital teams and various other business solutions can be the guiding force behind the implementation and solidification of our ideas.
We believe that our mentor-mentee pairing can be a formidable one, given the relevance of our project’s tech to your skills and expertise in the field. Feel free to contact us to find out more about who we are and what our vision for this project is - we would be happy to schedule a call with you to discuss further. Let’s see our creation go to the moon under your mentorship!

Our project is about enabling NUS students to form teams in order to pursue various goals, such as for hackathons or even Orbital. We are somewhat experienced with Web Development, having delivered a web app currently being utilized by one of leading NGOs in Singapore and we are in the process of delivering another web app for said NGO. However, we believe that with the aid of your expertise we would be able to become more mature software engineers better versed in good software engineering practices. In particular, we would like to be more exposed to Test Driven Development (TDD) and rigorous software testing (Unit test, Component Tests and E2E testing)
We look forward to your reply and would love it if you would choose to mentor us!
We are team NUSRoutes and we are interested in building a web, mobile and telegram app for navigation within NUS. More details can be found in our proposal. Similar to the past projects that you have done, we hope that NUSRoutes will be an app that would serve the NUS community better. With your immense experience with past orbital projects, your guidance would definitely be value-adding to our project.
Thank you for your consideration and we hope to embark on this journey with you!
