Hey Apurva,

We're team exhaustedUpset, and we're looking to build a cross platform mobile app called moot! moot is an anonymous chat application that is focused on encouraging and incentivising deep meaningful discussions and allowing users to engage with a diverse array of interesting perspectives, opinions and ideas.

In the digital world, we seem to be losing the ability to form real human connections. Reduced attention span lends itself to quick snap judgements instead of long form genuine brain-picking sessions. moot provides an avenue for people to have genuine conversations, where asynchronous and anonymous interactions are possible, without the need to worry about first impressions and presentation. All that matters is the exchange of ideas, sans judgement.

To make this happen, we'll need to quickly level up our skills in UI/UX design, backend and databases; we think that your invaluable experiences as an application developer, especially in NodeJS and ReactJS, will really help guide us in the right direction! We hope that you're as excited about making this a reality as we are and that you'll be interested in joining us in revitalising the social interaction scene in NUS and beyond :) We look forward to working with you!

Hello Apurva, we are SponsorLah!, a pair of Computer Science freshmen from Malaysia. Our Orbital project is called Sponsorr!, a web application that matches events with sponsors for the purpose of event sponsorship.

The platform not only serves as a marketplace for event organisers and sponsors but under its hood is a machine-learning powered matching algorithm that generates optimal event-sponsor pairings, which removes the logistical overhead of searching for sponsorships.

The team aims to learn and implement the best software development practices from ideation to production, and we could benefit from your interest in ensuring these practices are followed through. We had an enjoyable time crafting this project idea back in March, and we are excited to invite you to share the fun as our mentor.

We believe that our mentor-mentee pairing can be a formidable one, given the relevance of our project’s tech to your skills and expertise in the field. Feel free to contact us to find out more about who we are and what our vision for this project is - we would be happy to schedule a call with you to discuss further. Let’s see our creation go to the moon under your mentorship!

Greetings Ms. Karve,

Hope you are doing well.

Our team is solving an issue that was imminently personal to us - we found that between our completely online classes and assignments, there was little time to meet people who have the same interests and want to participate in similar activities. This brought us to the idea of Kliq - our app that matches people based on gamified user feedback and profile portfolios to connect people looking for teammates, friendly competitors, or simply, friends.

We have detailed how exactly we are looking to solve this in the folder linked below, where you shall find our poster, our teaser video, as well as our comprehensive Project proposal:

We found your experience to be especially relevant given your work on web application projects. As computer science freshmen, we are both fairly new to software development and are hoping to count on your mentorship for the guidance that could steer us towards a productive summer building an application we love (and we hope you will love just as much).

We would love for you to reach either of us for any queries you may have about us or our project. Hope you will consider mentoring us.

Thanking you and with best regards,

Sourabh and Wrik.

Hi Apurva,
Our team aims to create a friendship app that is user-centric and beneficial to the users. We felt that your expertise in the software engineering domain aligns with our goals. Marcus and I look forward to a fun and meaningful summer doing Orbital, and we'll be excited to work with you!
